MVG benefits are advertised all over with discounts for golf @ Gary Player Country Club but the proshop (Victor) refused to honour the discount when I played last week. Silver MVG members are entitled to a 10% discount but he claimed that the rate we were paying (R690 greenfee) was a special, which was a as I phoned later and Olga confirmed this was a standard rate. Also the proshop advised the caddie halfway was R20 but the caddies said R30. For fear of having a sulky caddie for the back 9 we paid the R30. When I approached the proshop about this Victor said I should speak to the caddies. Really - is that my job??? I left a message with Phemelo on 30 March for the MVG manager to call me but he/she never bothered! Between MVG and Gary Player CC you need to get your act together if you want to claim to be a 5 star venue. It seems I am only a "Most Valued Guest" when I am losing money to the casino! I will be forwarding this matter to the advertising board as this is definetly a case of false advertising!
