After not having been to Gold Reef City for a number of years i decided to treat my wife and 4 year old son and take them. Obviously as it was just the three of us the idea was to take him to the kiddies section where he could go on the rides. I was shocked to discover that an adult who cant even go on any of the rides as we had a child with us still pays the same rate as the people who have full access to the whole park! R470.00 it cost for the 3 of us!! All of that money to follow our son around and go on the massive selection of 8 or so rides that he could go on? We eventually decided we'd take him to the rapids ride under the anaconda as he would enjoy that only to see a sign stating he was 100mm too short... We decided to try the car ride right by the entrance first to see how lenient they were with the rule and he got on there fine... We then stood for 45 minutes by the rapids and were passed by may martials only to be told at the end he was too short... Are you trying to tell me a short 4 year old that can swim is at more of a risk than a tall 6 year old that cant? Needless to say i have no intention on spending that amount of money again. Its ridiculous
