I have an avid supporter of Gold Reef City Theme park ever since I was a kid. Everything was in order and the experience was unforgettable. I decided to drive all the way from Durban to a sweltering Joburg only to visit my beloved theme park. I arrived at 11 am on Saturday 5 October 2013.I had to firstly wait at least and hour in line to get my tickets which cost R495 in total for my 10 year old daughter, myself and my husband. We were not warned by the cashier or there was no indication that the park was extremely full and that we had to wait long hours to get on the rides. WE were not even given a map! After trotting around we decided to go on the train which took us to the kids section. We waited an hour to go on the shell ride (the operator was giving people a double ride!) so the wait was truly terrible. We were then told that my daughter was too old to go on the ride! We then decided to go on the "adult" shell ride and waited for at least another hour to get on. We then decided to go on the log ride. We waited for 2 1/2 hours in the blistering heat while african children were cutting the queue. After the long wait we were told the ride was broken!! I want a refund!
