Call centre clueless

I had to buy a new Explora DStv PVR because my old PVR was dying (after just 3 years!) If there were any alternative to Multichoice I would switch my subscription to the competition in a heartbeat, but unfortunately we're all stuck with overpriced DStv and it's poor customer service.

I needed some help figuring out a couple of features on the new remote. Knowing from previous experience that the call centre reps are pleasant but clueless, I tried to call my installer first, but he didn't have the Explora himself and couldn't help. So I rang the call centre. The first two times the call didn't even go through. The next time I struggled through the voice prompts, got a very pleasant rep, explained all of my questions, waited on hold while she researched them (since she didn't have any idea of the answers), the was cut off after 5 minutes. Called back a 4th time, reached a different rep. She, too, didn't know the answers. She said that they have an Explora PVR in the call centre but no one knows where the remote is!!! She, too, had to research my questions. Fortunately she came back online before I was cut off. Unfortunately, it turns out that she gave me wrong information!
