Today DSTV suspended my account. I rang and they told me because my recurring card payment was declined, when i pressed them about this, the story changed to i emailed them a cancellation when i disagreed with this i was told i logged on 3 months ago and cancelled the service in oct. I disagreed and was told payment was cancelled because i need a new smartcard. Then i was told that they had a security breach and all the credit cards data they hold had been compromised and they therefore cancelled the pmt themselves. Then they want to charge a reconnection fee for an account they cancelled, go figure!!! It also makes me wonder what the leak of card information was and why they didnt put this in the newspaper instead they allege to have sent an email 2 days before the card is usually charged notifying me to re input my card details. The online payment system has always been somewhat unreliable so this isnt really a suprise but after spending hours on the phone to them and the bank i am somewhat irratated to find that they cancelled the payment and told me it was my fault!
