The new "IMAX" at Ster-Kenikor is a joke. I use inverted comma's because is by no means IMAX quality and definitely does not justify the R90 price per ticket.
Ster-Kenikor is just riding the IMAX brand bandwagon here. The screen is by no means IMAX sized, it is marginally bigger but nowhere near the size of the old IMAX or the IMAX's in the US, plus there is no ATMOS sound in the IMAX theater.
It seems that IMAX is a normal cinema with worse sound than Cinema 1, a slightly bigger screen and new seats yet they are charging R90 per ticket.
The ticket price does not justify what you are receiving!
They also include the price of glasses into the ticket so now you have to buy the uncomfortable, cheap plastic glasses every single time instead of just bringing your own. The cheek!
Complete ripoff, don't they dare claim that IMAX is not popular after this abysmal attempt.
What a joke.
I'd rather just watch movies in Cinema 1 for the normal ticket price.
