On the 3 April I went into DSTV and asked to upgrade from my compact (which I pay for a year in advance) to full DSTV for one month to watch some of the IPL. She gave me an amount to pay and said my DSTV would now be full viewing for one month until the 3rd of May. She only charged me R40. When I questioned and asked why it was so little, she said because the new month had already started. Low and behold last week a get an sms requesting me to pay R625 or there would be a reconnection charge. Apparently I had been getting full DSTV for an extra month and now had to pay for it, even though I had specifically only asked for one month. When i queried why I had to pay for a full month of DSTV (R625 when I had already paid R275 for the month for compact) the woman said that its because I was undercharged the month before! I only wanted an upgrade for 1 month. I was charged for 1 month. I paid for 1 month and am now told I have to pay R590 (she gave me a R35 discount because I came in before the end of the month) or else my DSTV will be cut and I will have to pay a reconnection fee because I didn't come in and request for it to be stopped! WTH, I only asked for 1 month. Very irate
