4 years and 4 months ago I purchased a Baracuda X7 pool cleaner. It cost me R1700.00 (R3k in todays money) and at the time I was told that this was the latest and greatest pool cleaner ever, and to back the "brag" it came with a 5 year warranty. About 3 months ago it stopped working because a connector had perished. I got my old Baracuda working by buying some spares, and contacted Zodiac on the 2nd April. They came back immediately to say the part was covered, and that a tech would come out and fix it. Then I recd a mail to say there were no parts but they were on order and would be arriving that week. Today, 3 weeks later I contatced them to find out what's happened to the spares as I had not heard anything further. They apolagised for the late reply, an in the mail I received (condensed) said they had no spares and that as the unit was over 4 years old they suggest I buy a new unit. What happened to the 5 year warranty?? I am extremely disappointed as I have always had pretty good service from Baracuda, but this has left a very "sour tatse" and I intend taking the matter further.
