Lettings Agency - Fails to Respond to Complaints

We have rented a house on Princes Grant Estate and one loo has never worked. We have complained since we moved in to no effect. Before Christmas we agreed to pay an extra R2500 in December for the house but explained that my husband's family would be with us and the loo really needed to be fixed. It wasn't and so 5 people ended up using one en suite loo. We held back the extra rent which spurred Peterson to organise a plumber who agreed that the loo was plumbed in wrong and would never have worked. We have complained to the Rental Housing Association and are awaiting a hearing date. The loo still doesn't work and yet Peterson is completely ignoring the problem despite it being the duty of the agency to fix. We wanted to stay for an extra 2 weeks before moving back to the UK. We have just been handed a lease which says that unless we pay the extra rent they will keep the deposit. We never signed an inventory and yet are convinced they will try and keep our deposit to pay for the loo. Awful awful lettings agency that seems to be money grabbing, soley on the side of the landlord and fails to carry out their duty to repair. Never ever rent through them.
