After reserving a unit at the new Greenstone Ridge development I was asked to come and sign a contract for the unit.
The unit will have to be in both my name and my wife's name. I was only available to go and sign the contract and as such I wanted to get a copy of the contract and bring it home, look through it and discuss any grey areas with my wife.
I was told by the salesman that contracts are not allowed to leave the premises and that I cannot take a copy home. This is totally illegal and goes against the Consumer Protection Act (Part 50 (2)(b)). I am entitled to take a contract home and read it and make an informed decision, at my leisure and without being rushed to sign the contract because "the contract cannot leave the premises"
I am still trying to get a copy of the contract.
