As companies more and more are using branding on their vehicles it becomes imperative the company representatives adhere to road rules as they become the ambassadors of the brand. Sadly this was not the case yesterday with Charmaine Redhead, who was driving and talking on her cellphone on Ysterhout Drive at approximately 17:00. Even after I hooted at her and brought to her attention her wrongdoing, she continued talking.
Such public flouting of the law in a branded vehicle can have huge implications. As an example anyone in the market to buy a property in RandPark Ridge would be inclined to steer away from Rawson Properties based on this negative public display. It leaves me wondering about the professional integrity of the representative if she feels she can disobey the law so brazenly.
Surely if your agents are travelling and because of the importance of instant communication, wouldn't it be vital for your company to ensure that all branded vehicles are fitted with a hand-free kit and have measures in place that ensure all employees are bound to use this as opposed to hand-held devices.
