EASYFILE SOFTWARE PROBLEMS KNOWN BUT STILL ON WEB

SARS still make their e@syfile software available to be downloaded - even when they know that there are bugs in the programme that prevent the user from being able to use the system.

I have wasted days going to assist clients with their irp5 submissions because SARS hide the fact that the programme either doesnt work, or requires a patch to be loaded to enable it to work.

Last week after wasting an entire day, SARS eventually admitted that the programme didnt work on Windows 8 - and it would be fixed over the weekend. However, there was no notice on their website to prevent other people from downloading e@syfile or warning them that it didnt work on Windows 8.

Also, e@syfile software doesnt work with Java ver 7 - so version 6 has to be reloaded in order for it to work. Again, this is not posted on the website, and if it had been I wouldnt have wasted an entire day trying to get it to work using Java ver 7.

This is just dishonesty. SARS should block the software download when they know that there are problems, and post a notice on the website informing users of the problems and solutions available, to avoid users wasting hours trying to use a programme that doesnt work.
