I just got an email that R1000 will be taken from my salary, because i owe them R5000 that i know nothing about, even previously this has happened, and i thought maybe its the penalty of submitting late, but last year i submitted my returns on line and when i checked the penalties THEIR OWN SYSTEM SHOWED ME R0.00 and now called the call centre spoke a an agent Princes and she advised me that i have outstanding balance of R5000 but there was no one who told me about this and she advises me that they have sent me letters and tried to call me but i havent changed my numbers nor my address.
this is not right and especially seeing how our tax money is being misused in this country, and one gets into such a predicament with SARS and when i am willing to make arrangements i am advised i cant make arrangements, and this is not my fault that i was not not informed of the outstanding amount.
