In 2010 I lost my job and therefore could not submit my returns as there was nothing to submit at that time, however my previous employer did submit to SARS before paying me out- now SARS tells me that I owe them R100 for penalties, which I don't understand as after I got a new job I was submitting accordingly and SARS even said that they owe me money. my dispute is, if it SARS saw that I didn't file in 2010-2011- why didn't they take their money after I my returns were sent to them accordingly after 2010? I went on e-filling with a help of a consultant, I submitted for the outstanding year and was requested to get an affidavit to continue with my dispute, I did that and now the issue is I cant process it on e filling as when I get to the page where it has to display the file page and then submit- the page hangs and I get the please wait message. I called SARS yesterday and I was told to download a new version of Adobe reader and I did that but still I cant process it, I called again and was told to try logging on a different PC, which I did but still Can't submit it, and now SARS sent me a sms to say that I must pay by the 31st, for the period I was not working.
