Department of Home Affairs
General Work Permit

I am a foreign national residing in the Republic of South Africa on asylum basis, I visited the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) in June of 2012 applying for a General Work Permit, I submitted all the required papers as per application requirements and to date the application is being said to be "pending" after more than a dozen visits from the second week of initial application period. I was told to call customer services on 0800 60 1190 (27 800 60 1190) which I did on several occasions and was told by one of their customer services consultant to keep on "checking". On the fifteenth of February 2013, I visited DHA (Cape Town), the office of application, and was given email addresses for the Pretoria (Head Quarters) DHA customer services consultants for assistance, on the same date, I emailed my query to the given addressees (Persons Responsible) and Consultant Sekwathi Mathole responded to my email five days later requesting the copies I sent in June of 2012 with my application to be resubmitted via email, I did as per request carbon copying Charmaine Esau, Thembakazi Balfour, Maggie April, and Ziphora Senokoane, to date I have not yet received any response from the DHA.
