Department of Home Affairs
Naturalisation/Citizenship application gone missin

I applied for naturalisation at the Caledon home affairs in the Western Cape on 27 May 2011. I supplied all the required documents and payed the application fees applicable. In August I was called to sign the certificate of allegiance and was told by Mrs Davids that my application had been successful. She told me that they will call me to collect my citizenship certificate shortly. In December the 2011 I called her and she told me to wait as she was waiting to hear from Pretoria as all applications were now being handled by the Pretoria office. I have visited the Caledon office on numerous times and was told to "just wait". I have called the home affairs call centre and the told me they dont have any proof of my application on record. I have written to the office of home affairs director general and they told me they will look into it until today. I am still "just waiting". I have proof of the application and some of the communication I have had with the department.
