In June 2008 this Act was introduced, put in place and all of us just needed to to fork out the money and pay. I started paying into the previous owner's account just so I could clear that account. To date i have not received one Invoice from Johannesburg Connect on my name and I have been sms'd by their useless collections department for outstanding amounts on my bill recently. I by some miracle got hold of my Invoice and started paying but now I sit with an issue that I still have money in a different account that i have paid and I still get charged interest for amount in arrears! Joburg municipality is so useless, after phoning their collections and Joburg Connect no one can help because they do not answer their phones and the one time I got through they said I must go there. I have heard that the municipality is writing off millions... If there is anyone with the same issue, we need to stand together on this! Their incompetence is costing us money! We need to get our money back! at least the interest that getting charged! We need to go to the news papers on this issue! I know of so many people that do not pay this for their property because they don't know about it!
