Mis-information about the methods of billing

I rode on a BRT Rea Vaya bus to work on Friday, 31/01/2014. On my departure at the station the station doors were malfunctioning and i don't understand why as there was a generator next to them just covered and not in use. We were instructed to use the door on the opposite end of the station. We proceeded and left the station. This afternoon as i was to enter the Library Wesbound Station the door reported that i had insufficient funds and when i enquired, the security explained to me about penalty charges incurred when you do not tag out of a station. What i don't appreciate is that the ushers at the Chancellor house didn't not give us the full information on what to do when you've not tagged out of a particular station. I demand that there be uniform all across the board as commuters who receive selective information will always suffer. My day was ruined and i am actually considering changing my form of transport to work.
