My Mother and father married in 1975, they have an old marriage licence which the Law now finds it not valid My dad passed away in 2010 and when we received his death certificate it showed that he is Divorced. We have been trying to sort out this mess from 2010, and no one can assist us. I went with my mum to the Department of Home Affairs and they validated her I/d number which shows that she is "single". My dads I/d number shows that he is divorced but there is no case number for the Probono lawyer we found to pull the records at the High Court. How is this even possible? The officials at the Department of Home Affairs cannot give us the correct answers nor can they assist us. Can someone please contact me so that i can sort out this mess once and for all
