Department Of Home Affairs
INCORRECT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER

Application was made for ID book for my daughter in Humansdorp. She never received her ID book in time for matric exams, after enquiries from Home Affairs, she received the ID number that was allocated to her. They said her ID book is in the post. After several months of enquiries they said her documents were missing. Home Affairs will re-send ID book. After months she received ID book. She never realized that the ID number in the ID book differs from the ID number Home Affairs gave her to write her matric exams. Only when she applied for a job at Old Mutual it came to her attention that the ID number on her ID book and her matric certificate differs. After MANY enquiries and frustrations to try to fix her ID number on her matric certificate, the Department of Education kept on telling her that Dept of Home Affairs must provide proof that the ID number on the Matric Certificate doesn't belong to ANY PERSON. Only then her correct ID number can be fixed on her Matric Certificate. After MANY enquiries at Home Affairs they only tell her to WAIT. She was denied a few jobs applications due to the incorrect ID number on her matric certificate. We don't receive ANY help to fix ID numbe
