I have interacted with the Social Work Council for a whole year! 31 January 2013, first to restore my practice number (received restortion in May 2013! 5months later - had to get my brother in law to go himself to their offices in pretoria because I am in Cptown), In the same process, I wanted to obtain a Status Report, as evidence of my initial registration - to cut a long story short, they absolutely do not care - they do not answer phones when they do, they give you an email address which is also unanswered. I pleaded with my brother in law AGAIN to go check; I have written a complaint to the Registrar with long details of what happened; now yesterday 6months later!! I receive an email from her apologising for the poor and unprofessional service BUT then ASKS me AGAIN to say what my complaint is about! WhAt must a person do; where else do I complain? I have had it! This cannot be right! What do people who do not have access do - then there is a complaint about the shortage of Social Worker, and the bad social service system! If the council wants to be professional, it must treat its professionals professionally - no wonder some are leaving the country!
