I am very concerned about the manner in which this department render its grass cutting and parks cleaning services to my neighbourhood in Castlehill Newlands West, it has become a norm that the municipality will let the grass grow very long without cutting it in spite of the fact that we keep our end of the deal by paying rates every month.
It is a known fact that Castlehill is full of snakes and it is for that reason that the council should be ensuring that the grass is always cut in places where it is its responsibility to do so - but that is not the case. As I am typing this complaint the grass has grown long in the park nearby my house and it has resulted in my house being infested with small rats that are running away from the snakes in that park. I don't think that it is unfair that I have to pay almost R600 for pest control to get rid of the rats simply because the department cannot do its job.
We have kids and cannot afford to have them bitten/killed by snakes that are always seen coming out from the park. I am not trying to attack anyone, but I just want people to start doing their jobs that they get paid for - and for citizens to get services!!!
