Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality
Property damage

In July 2013 the electricity department drove through my boundary wall. The driver only had her learners licence. A claim form was filled in and submitted as requested with the relevant supporting documentation. A week later after much enquiry from my side the claim was rejected. No real reason was given. The case was given to the legal department. The person in the legal department had requested the information from the relevant department. But I had to do all the following up as to what was happening with this case. Needless to say we are now in 2014 and I am still nowhere. What does a person need to do to get anything done. All I want is for my wall to be repaired or to be paid to repair my wall. Is it really necessary to go through this tedious process. Investigate the case and sort it out. The fact that the employee didn't have a valid drivers licence is not my problem. Who does one need to see or talk to, to get this sorted out. Why does the client need to do all the running around for something that they did not do. if the situation was reversed I'd probably be in jail by now or have been fined for not complying.
