On the 13th october 2006 my husband Heinrich August Schmidt passed away. I put in a claim for death benefits and so did his ex wife. My claim was pre approved on 1/11/2006. I heard nothing, I phoned on the 15th of April 2007 and was told his ex wife had submitted her paperwork on the 13/4/2007. I heard nothing further on the 24/4/2007 I phoned UIF and was told his ex had been paid out. I took it up with the public protector who made UIF pay me four years later. I have been contacting UIF to find out what was done and if the said parties were ever disciplined to date I have had no feed back. Which I think is very unfair and very unprofessional
