In August my wife suffered a miscarriage. When it happened we visited her gynaecologist and he subsequently submitted a claim to Bonitas. In October my wife fell pregnant again and after a sonar in December, I phoned Bonitas to inform them that she was pregnant. After our next sonar, we were informed that our maternity benefits had been exhausted. Upon inquiring about the reason for this, I discovered that my wife had been listed as pregnant since August when the first claim had been submitted. I assumed it would be an easy matter to rectify, but three months, hours of phone calls and endless frustrations later - her maternity benefits have still not been fixed.

I've lost count of the amount of agents (like Sandile Magudulela and Lerato Maja) I've spent between 12 and 35 minutes speaking to, repeating the same story, quoting the same query numbers, hearing the same "we'll fix it in 3 days" promise. According to the agents and supervisors their systems don't cater for miscarriages and their IT department is the only one that might be able to fix this.

Is this what Bonitas means by "Serious about what you need"?
