Central Firearms
Official told me to off

At around 09h39 I phoned Central Firearms call centre to enquire about the issuing of my firearms licence. The official asked me for my ID Number and told me that my licence was refused on the 10 October 2012. I said to him that I appealed and according to my information the appeal was upheld on the 24 July 2013. I said to him that I phoned often for the last 3 months and they all just said to me that there were no progress (new information regarding my licence were not captured as yet on their system). I told him that the info he gave me were incorrect and he said to me that I should have said it was for a appeal licence from the start. A heavy exchange of words followed, and than the government official told me to off and dropped the phone in my ear. I am very disappointed and asked for a supervisor or manager because I wanted to lodge a complaint against the official. after a few minutes I got hold of the " manager" and I explained to her what happened. I asked her if she could trace the call and she told me that that is going to be a very lengthy process. She apologised and assured me that she would look into the problem.
