I took out my TV licence a year ago and have not received any licence number, documents or correspondence from the SABC. When I called the customer service line I was told that documentation is no longer issued? and given a licence number to pay on. I find this unacceptable as I have no proof that this is my licence number, this could be anybody's number? when I went to pay this was an invalid number. I called again and was sms'd a number lo an behold this again was an invalid number.
I find it unacceptable that I am required to pay a TV licence and am not provided with a licence number in writing. The SABC says that they send out reminders, I have not received a reminder and how do I get a reminder if I have never received any form of documentation?
How am I meant to pay my TV licence without a licence number?
