I've recently registered a business and I went to SARS looking to get it registered for Tax. I left SARS without help as I had the incorrect documents for the purpose at hand. It turned out that, although the document I had was indeed a Registration Certificate (Form CoR 14.3), SARS couldn't process it. SARS requested that I either head to Pretoria (from Johannesburg) or get in touch with CIPC 'somehow' to get the Registrar of Companies' Certificate Of Confirmation. I called CIPC's contact centre and was thrown from pillar to post. Instead, they kept giving the same, Registration Certificate (Form CoR 14.3), form which wouldn't be excepted by SARS.
Eventually, I called CIPC again, after holding for 45 minutes I got through to Mbali Mgabhi who was attentive and astute. She lead me to the correct document and SARS has confirmed that, indeed, it is the document they need to process the registration.
