I'm having the very same experience with SARS. My return where submitted, but my tax certificate was missing. When I got the info, I ran to SARS branch, just to be told that I had to raise an objection for my tax certificate to be added to my return. I was pleased. I waited a week, then another and nothing. I called my tax submitter who by the way was the one who made the mistake the first place and they told me that I had to update my banking details. I did so. Another week went by and after I called SARS, I have been told that I can't submit my return until the objection is finalized and the process takes up to 30 working days. I really don't know why is this taking so long? 30 working days to check some info that anyone can get in 10 minutes?
This is not acceptable! The process need to be reviewed. Honest tax payers expect a payment. In these hard time, all money you can get helps. Maybe the Minister of the revenue need to get involved.
