A month ago I went to the Cape Town SARS office to log a call re a penalty payment which was allocated to my assessed account. A special stopper was placed on my account and money due to me by SARS cannot be released until the penalty is allocated to the penalty account. I only became aware of this stopper after I queried why my money was not paid 2 weeks after e-filing.
This penalty was paid in November 2012! After numerous follow-ups (5) I was advised yesterday that there is no open case and they had to log a new call. Unacceptable!! No supervisors available to escalate to. So frustrated with the service delivery. All the call centre agents just sing the same song and no-one can help me.
