We live in Delville, Germiston and our PRE PAID power was cut yesterday afternoon (31 July). There is no money out standing on our rates and taxes or water, but still our electricity gets cut. this is not the first time it has happened and we went to the council 3 times in 2 days with no assistance. We just get told the technician will be sent out. But he never arrives. Our power is still down and no one at the Ekurhuleni Germiston Council is worried about helping us. We have 2 house holds living on the properties. My self, my husband and 2 kids and the my pensioner parents in law. What will happen to the food in the fridge?? It has been more than 24 hours that the fridges are not working. No one can answer that. We have two small children that has to be bathed and be cooked for. How do you do that with no hot water and no electricity for more that 24 hours. The service is despicable and unacceptable. I can understand if you don't pay that your power and it gets cut off, BUT come on all our accounts are up to date and the council has confirmed that, more than once!! This is unacceptable!!
