On Friday 25 Jan 2013 I went to go buy grogeries for the month. My power went off at 17:00 Friday afternoon. 8 hours later I tried to phone and I got a automated voice message saying they are working on the problem. Saturday morning still no power. I proceeded to make another phone call and after being on hold for more than an hour I gave up. Without any communitcation from Eskom or Ekurhuleni about how long the power will still be down. Saturday night at 22:00 the power was restored. BUT, I had to throw away all the meat, dairy products, fruit and vegetabels in my fridges. I lost food to the value of R3000. I would just like to know how I am going to feed my family for the rest of the month? Seeing that all the groceries for the month ended up in the dustbin now. If we had a warning that this was going to happen I would of made alternative plans for my food to stay fresh.
