I am a S. African citizen, making enquiries as to the processes and procedures for marrying a Spanish national in S Africa, then ensuring she is legally in the country and seeking information regarding visas, work permits, what documents are required etc. Over a period of a few days I have been pushed through 3 main offices, one of which is the MAIN Pretoria office, to obtain said information. Today I was "assisted" at the AKASIA branch, PTA North. It was an insulting and offensive experience! After duly awaiting my turn, I had a few questions to ask, but after the second question, was bluntly told to hurry up, twice, without any apology or courtesy. After responding indignantly, I continued, only to be promptly FLICKED ON THE HAND TO HURRY UP!! The supervisor was apathetic when called and echoed that I was holding up the queue. In reality, my entire line of questioning could have been efficiently handled in minutes, but that was most definitely not evident, nor was courtesy. When I attempted to speak with the office manager, a most disinterested Enquiries staffer informed me there were NO MANAGEMENT AT ALL! I confirmed for myself..NOT A SOUL!! What message is this to foreigners?
