My mother was employed by the state for more than 25 years, then she went on pension 2012. All necessary forms were completed as requested including the Z583 form for continuation with medial aid. At first when I called the GPAA call centre I was informed that they never received that form, which I found it strange that out of all the forms 1 was missing, we were then requested to send another one which we did. After that were informed that my mother signed that she doesn't want to continue with the medical aid. What!!! how can we go all the trouble of phoning everyday and my mother is on chronic medication and have been working so many years for the gov and decides she doesn't want to receive subsidy. Since Jan till to date I have been calling put on hold for more than an hour on the phone, sending emails, but no answer from this department. They read emails but they don't get back with an answer. I have spoken to Sibusiso, Peter, Tebogo, Thandiswa, Vuyani, Thalitha, Mangaliso, Kabelo, Hilda... the list goes on, and all of these incompetent people sing a different tune each time I phone. Hilda even called me back saying will personally handle the matter but up until now, NOTHING! @!
