I sold my house and the transfer was registered in December 2012. I gave notice to cut the electricity but they kept on sending me bills and had to pay end off Jan and Feb. Thereafter they only close the account. I overpaid them and with my deposit and interest they owe me R1050. They said it could take up to 8 weeks for the cheque to be posted. Fatima, after 12 weeks passed said to me they had to make sure that I do not owe them tax. This is now after more than 12 weeks has passed that she come up with this. Now weeks has passed and still nothing. No more answers to my e-mails. This is her email:

I AM REPLYING TO YOUR EMAIL DATED THE 22/03/2013 REGARDING YOUR DEPOSIT REFUND.PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT WE HAD TO WAIT FOR THE NEW OWNERS DETAILS TO BE UPDATED IN OUR SYSTEM AND CONFIRM THAT YOU WERE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY RATES CHARGES THEREFORE THE DELAY.THE SYSTEM IS NOW UPDATED WITH THE NEW OWNERS DETAILS AND NO FURTHER RATES CHARGES WILL BE BILLED TO YOU THERFORE YOUR REFUND IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING DONE.PLEASE ADVISE IF CHEQUE MUST STILL BE POSTED TO 23 KAREE STR, KEMPTON PARK, 1619. MY APOLOGIES TO YOU.
