Today i went to the City of Joburg in Braamfontein (Thuso house) to query my rates bill. When i got there i was given a ticket and told to go and sit down in a designated area. As i sat down i noticed that there were about 30 booths. To my surprise there were only 2 people to assist people with account queries with a que of about 46 people and growing. There were a lot of booths with no one to help the large numbers of people that were there. 45 minutes after i had first arrived only 2 people had been helped and i still had over 40 people ahead of me. The last straw came when one of the ladies there told us she was going to lunch and would be back in 15 minutes, so i left. So that was my lunch hour waisted
I ask is this the service that our municipality gives to it's citizens no wonder we have so many service delivery protests and we wonder why people decide to protest violently. I definitely will not be voting for the current dispensation in the next election let"s see if a different party can provide better service than what we are currently subjected to. Ironically the building is named Thuso house (thuso meaning help) and i received no help.
