Pec Metering
Bad Business

I moved into a new apartment this weekend and had to register with PEC as a compulsory measure. I spoke with Veronica Kambi (Client Services" on Friday, before and after submitting all required documents. I was only able to transfer the deposit amount on Saturday morning. In my error my transfer feel R50 short as I was in such a rush due to the fact that PEC closes its doors at 16h00 on a Friday. My electricity was cut this morning without warning - I then received an email from PEC Saying that the deposit fell short, after the electricity was cut.

I take responsibility for my error in reading the documentation in a rush, but surely if the deposit is R1250 and I pay R1200, there can be some level of flexibility given that it's stressful enough moving house. I can't understand how a "Service Provider" can care so little about the people who make their business what it is. Legally they acted within their rights, but ethically, this is a rubbish way to do business with people.
