City Of Johannesburg Municipality
No water, but no one at City of Joburg cares

Last Monday 29/04/2013 someone from the City of Joburg municipality came to read our water meter. They noticed that the pipe coming into our meter was broken and so turned off our water. They didn't bother to tell us that the water had been switched off, or to even report the damaged pipe. We had to discover why we had no water ourselves.

So, we reported the problem that night. Since then we have reported the problem numerous times. It is now seven days that we have not had water and despite speaking to "supervisors" and the city saying our problem has been escalated, no one has come out yet to fix the pipe!

We also have a new tenant who just moved into our granny cottage and he is probably going to request his rent money back if this isn't resolved.

What more can I do to get this fixed!?! I'm so frustrated and feel so helpless. We pay nearly R3000 in rates and taxes every month and water is supposed to be a constitutional right!!! We can't shower or bath or flush the toilets or do washing & its infringing on my human dignity.

I see the city doesn't respond to complaints on HelloPeter so this probably won't do any good. But I need to vent my frustrations!
