On Tuesday 14 Jan. 2014 I reported a water leak near my water meter to eThekwini Water ref. F140114-901. A contractor arrived within 2hours and repaired the water leak. On Wednesday 15 Jan. 2014 I called eThekwini water to inform them that the water pipes were exposed where the contractor worked the day before. I was told that an illegal water connection water reported and that was the reason why the pipes were still exposed as a water inspector was scheduled to inspect. Around 12pm the same day my water was cut. i went outside to my water meter and found it being removed by the municipality. I reported to the offices and was told nothing can be down and I must pay R3186 to reconnect my water. Thursday 16 Jan. 2014 I paid the R3186 reconnection fees and was told I must wait 14days for reconnection. Ward councilor for my area contacted Ian Govender about my issue to and was told i must wait 14 days for water. 14 days without water, sanitation? How does one survive? I reported the problem water leak and my meter was removed within 24hours. Why does is take so long to reconnect? I was not aware of the illegal connection... if I did, wouldnt i have repaired it myself??? Im just sayin
