WASTED TIME & EFFORT - UNPRODUCTIVE

I went to SARS BELLVILLE today to get a tax clearance certificate, being the good standing tax payer that I am.

I stood in a que for over 2 hours! and eventually left before even getting through the front door.

I was greeted by Phumzi a SARS an agent who's job is to go down the que handing out numbers. She stood there with her iPad asked me for my ID number and cell phone and proceeded to give me the number 539. When I asked her what that meant she could not tell me.

The lady in front of me was greeted with attitude when Phumzi found out that she worked for over 30 years but had not registered before as a tax payer. I don't blame her she needs to put food on the table, standing for a day at SARS will not achieve that!

What is going on with the revenue services? If I don't pay my tax then SARS will be the 1st to come knocking at my door, yet I am to surposed to stand in a que for over 2 hours! Upon talking to a car guard, I asked what was the best time to come, he apparently said people arrive at 5am in the morning to be at the front of the que? Then told me people take a days leave to visit SARS? This is unproductive!

I will not accept this and something needs to done!
