AVUSA Media Magazine division supplies the MIMS (medical drug reference book for doctors) in South Africa. Electronic MIMS can also be bought and then a license fee has to be paid annually to be allowed to use the software.
My license was suspended and my software inactivated at the end of last year. A renewal notice had never been sent to me. I paid the annual fee immediately but after a month I had still not received the new software. It turns out that AVUSA mailed it to the wrong postal address. I provided them with the correct details again. I am still waiting for the software to be sent to me.
I have a very busy practice and not being able to use the software is a major inconvenience. AVUSA blames a postal service strike for the delay and told me that I can go to their offices in Rosebank to fecth it (I stay and work in Mulbarton).
AVUSA should not deactivate my current software if they cannot provide the renewal immediately. I've paid R850 on 3 January and I still dont have the software, this should not be allowed!
