"same day service - in by 9, out by 4"
Swift Dry Cleaners' pay-off line is a great statement, and R11/kg plus R45 collect & deliver made it ideal for a female with a small frame and 15 kgs of washing fresh out of a traumatic jungle trip.
I contacted Swift late in the morning of Friday, 9 April. I was too late for the same-day service although they found time to collect. Upon arrival at my flat lower down on Kloof St; the driver collected my giant duffel bag full and a smaller shopper and told me he didnt deliver on w/e so I can collect - I didn't realise this was an order, not an alternative and again I must point out that I am 1.65m and bird boned.
How can I carry such a load? It is now 11am on Tuesday, 5 days later, and this has unfolded:
a - I call to ask for my washing, R210 incl delivery (A notable order to "forget" surely?) and the manager agrees to waive the R45 delivery. I shall use them again, I think.
b - Driver verbally abuses me over the phone as he's "waiting at the gate" - he doesn't ring the bell, and it works...
c - He fights about the clear -R45 on the slip and refuses to carry the load to my flat. He leaves with my washing!
d - I call shop, manager calls me a fabricator of the truth
