Booked for my daughter and a friend to have a mini facial and pedicure at the gemstone spa in Pretoria as a 14th birthday present on Tuesday 26 March 2013 My daughter had been for a treatment before but for her friend, it was a first time experience. On booking I advise the reception that it was a birthday gift.
They were escorted to the therapy rooms and made to there for 10 min before being attended to. One therapist was quite friendly - the other very surly and downright rude to them.
The pedicure turned out to be just painting their toenails and they were done within an hour! The massage chairs that they use while having a pedicure were not even switched on. There was nothing "special" added or considered for the birthday girl - infact they did not even wish her.
I have now tried calling the manager 3 times - I have left messages and todate I have had no response.
Treatment of such a nature and spa's are meant to be a spoil for a lady or young woman and this was nothing of the sort! In fact overall, l it was a bad experience. I feel The staff took advantage of the fact that they were young and inexperienced and instead of this being a treat and spoil - it was a disaste
