I bought 30 XL Eggberts Eggs on Thursday 14 March.. I have not bought this brand before, and will NEVER buy them again!! I started using them on Monday 18th March. Opening the pack, I immediately smelt that something was wrong, but thought that it couldn't be all that were spoilt so I start cracking them with the intention of using the ones that were alright. Well, after cracking 5 eggs, I stopped. 4 of them were rotten and not just slightly so, really black and and thoroughly disgusting. I looked carefully on the packaging (including the plastic film) - no batch codes or anything. I did find a contact number on the cardboard insert though, and duly tried phoning. First number, solidly engaged, second number, after a lengthy ringing period, was answered and so spoke to a lady by the name of Natasha. She takes my name and number and assures me that Harold will call me. He does - once - and tells me that the batch number should have been on the film and he'll get back to me. I have been following up every other day and am not winning. Think they know they are selling rubbish quality, and hope to get away with it. Currently the phone is engaged, I think 'off the hook' .. I'm furious!!
