My husband bought a black forest cake on Sunday afternoon at 18h20.
At supper our guests complained that the sponge cake had a foul taste. We all tasted and agreed that the cake (not the cream but the sponge) was unsavoury.
On Monday (14/01) the cake was taken back to the establishment with the receipt.
A short middle-aged man asked me whether I could be helped? I stated my problem with the cake, he tasted it; said that the cake was fine; and the reaction I then got was really astounding to say the least. He lashed out saying that "I am sick and tired of YOU PEOPLE (asians?) that always have complaints. Don't ever come back to my shop." He then asked his cashier to refund me. He then added that I should go to SPAR or elsewhere because he was sick of us.
Well Mr rude man, I and my family have been supporting your bakery from the late 1980's and it was the first time that I have complained of your product (that is a compliment!) But I am appalled at your rude behaviour towards a customer who complained about your product in a civilised manner. Good riddance to you and your establishment. Just for your information; my asian community has been patronizing your establishment for years
