The reason for my report is so that other people will be spared the embarrassment and inconvenience.
I ordered a 3 tiered 21st birthday cake which we collected on Saturday the 30th of November. Prior to this we went for tasters and chose the flavours of the 3 cakes. The cake was absolutely beautiful and I was very impressed that it looked just like the picture we provided. Unfortunately when we cut the cake for the guests, no one could eat it. Not sure if the cake had gone bad or whether they used too much essence, but I had to throw away the whole cake. The whole experience was very embarrassing as guests were also impressed with how the cake looked but the cake tasted really bad. As I was away for a few days, I could not take the cake back on Monday (in any case I threw it away). Benita refused to do anything about it as her contract states that the cake has to be returned within 48 hours. I most certainly would not have complained if I had nothing to complain about. I also have all my guests as witnesses (over 100 guests). Very disappointed. I just threw away R690 - what a waste and thankfully I had other eats which I made myself.
