All I wanted that day was to sit in a nice coffee shop and have a big slice of cake and as I walked passed Mugg and Bean those big deliciously presented cakes drew my attention and I found myself ordering a piece of the peppermint crisp tart/cake. When I got my cake I tasted it and the cream was sour. I called the manager who came to apologise and then (I guess by accident) mentioned that someone also complained about the same cake being past due earlier the day and that she will take it off the stand now. So why was the cake not taken of the shelf when the first customer complained? Management should have investigated/tasted the cake if they thought the customer was just complaining for the sake of complaining. Because of this I had to have the very unpleasant taste of old cream in my mouth. I will never eat cake at Mugg and Bean again. Serving old cake/food to paying customers is a disgrace especially knowing that it's old and not wanting to write it off as wastage.
