On Wednesday 22 Jan '14 I enquired about a vehicle at Capital Auto World Benoni. Susan Joseph replied on Thursday 23 Jan @ 13:50 that the vehicle was still available. I immediately requested 1st option on this vehicle whereby documents were requested and these were sent @ 20:19 and on Fri @ 09:40 by my wife. As I was stuck at work, I could only sent bank statements via fax but this was denied as problems persisted with CAW's phone lines. I called in (faulty lines?) and mentioned to finance manager Dalene Jane Delport that the statements can only be emailed after 15:00 whereby she acknowledged. At 10:00 I received approval confirmation from my bank and was asked by Susan to confirm time of signature of contract. My response was that I will come through same afternoon after work. Statements were sent at 15:25 and I prepared for the trip to sign and collect the vehicle which I bought as a present. At 18:39 I received an email stating the vehicle had been sold to another individual. Upon my inquiry regarding this prejudice behaviour, I was informed that I did not submit my statements in time. So much for service excellence and customer service from a "widely recognized dealer".
