I took a Hyundai Elantra in for a Major Service on the 7th of January 2014. Mr van Osch charged me R1, 400 for the following: oil filter, oil, plugs, air filter change.
I told him that I have to register and license a Hyundai Getz. He offered to assist me. I asked him how much is he going to charge me for doing it, on which he replied that he does it on a daily basis, and will only charge me for the parts that he uses to get the car ready for testing purposes, and the lady who usually attends to the licensing usually charges R80. Other than that I was liable for all the fees. I agreed and we worked out that all and all should not be more than R1, 500, depending on fees. I had to phone every day to require on the progress. He said that he spent 15 hours waiting to receive documents, but will only charge me for 2 hours @ R350 per hour. The account came to R2925, which I was not prepared for. Nobody in his right mind will pay another person R700 plus R200 for petrol to do what he could do himself. This took till the 22nd January 2014!!! I am not working and is available all day. Please beware for people who are out there to rob you!!
