Reasons that I can establish from my own calculations:
1. I have been charged for gantry usage which I did NOT use. I have a very detailed log book of my highway usage and can only match 50% of what I've been charged. Thanks for the lovely detailed invoice SANRAL.
2. I have been charged 3 times the gazetted rate, eg. Gazetted rate for King Fisher gantry is R5.51, I have been charged R16.53.
3. According to the gazette, I am entitled to a time-of-day discount. The invoice does not reflect this.
I tried calling the centre to lodge my dispute. I spoke to a very nice man Kgomotso. Shame he wasn't able to assist me, as this is out of the realm of his training. He did however inform me that I now owe -R2500.
Attempts to lodge a dispute on the website are futile as there are NO operating links to do so. Moreover, SANRAL has made it as excessively onerous to lodge a dispute. Getting an affidavit signed by a commissioner, etc. etc.
SANRAL, how do I get this dispute lodged WITHOUT all this PT as I actually have a full time job and can't take time off. I will grudgingly pay on condition that this is resolved.
At these rates, I'll end up paying >R3500 pm, >R40000pa Eish!
